Vampire Squid (Japanese: コウモリダコ, Hepburn: Kōmoridako?) is the captain of the final stages from Darius Gaiden. It is based of a vampire squid (Vampyroteuthis infernalis).

This captain will always show up from behind the player, before the last stage track begins. It will slowly move forward using it's tentacles to propel itself, and once the player is behind it it will start shooting lots of bullets from the tentacles. This attack can cover a good portion of the screen, making it very useful once captured. Every once in a while it will also shoot a straight laser from the gun between its tentacles.
